中远航运是一家总部位于上海的国有跨国公司，在2016年1月中远集团与中海集团成功合并后，中远航运成为全球海上运输的主导力量。凭借创新和合作精神，公司已融入国际贸易的结构，定义了现代海上贸易时代。

1986
公司的发展历程始于中远总代理，主要从事散货船的胶合板和橡胶的出口运输。
1991
在五年内，中远代理成功地扩大了业务，转型为一家知名的集装箱运输公司。
1994
中远集团开始与GPI合资，专注于发展集装箱航运业务，最终成功成立了PT Ocean Global shipping。

GPI被授予“中远航运最佳合作伙伴奖”，以表彰其30多年来为中远航运业务在印尼的发展所做的贡献。2018年12月，中远海运控股有限公司副董事长兼执行董事黄晓文先生在上海举行的中远海运全球大会上向环球普特拉国际集团总裁兼首席执行官Sumadi Kusuma先生颁发了这一荣誉。
